Immunophotonics is excited to announce that the European Patent Office has issued a new patent titled “Semi-Synthetic Biopolymers for Use in Stimulating the Immune System.”

This patent, which provides Immunophotonics with exclusivity extending into 2039 for this use, is now valid in over 20 European countries and covers the use of our lead drug candidate, IP‑001, in combination with checkpoint inhibitors for the treatment of solid tumors. This patent supports the continued clinical development of IP‑001 as a combination immunotherapy designed to improve anti-tumor immune responses. The European patent adds to our broad intellectual property protection and further strengthens the company’s intellectual property portfolio.

IP‑001 is an exploratory drug that has already been tested in more than 120 patients across multiple solid tumor indications and is currently being evaluated in multiple clinical trials in Europe and the U.S.  Checkpoint inhibitors are a class of immunotherapies already widely prescribed to cancer patients that has comprised some of the world’s highest-selling drugs in recent years.
