Dr. Smoller is a General Partner at Cultivation Capital and previously served as the Chief Scientific Officer of Sigma-Aldrich Corporation. Dr. Smoller has founded and exited multiple life science companies including ProteoPlex and Genome Systems Inc.

He earned a doctorate degree in Molecular Biology and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship from Washington University in the Drosophila Genome project and a postdoctoral fellowship at Monsanto Corporation.
